Vintage pamphlet of the Charles F. Lewis Natural Area Cramer, PA
The Charles F. Lewis Natural Area is located several miles West of Johnstown along Rt. 403. This place is very scenic and beautiful. It is full of wonder. The trails are steep and if you're an avid, diehard hiker, this is the place for you. You have to be careful though. The trail is narrow and windy along that deep ravine known as Clarks Run. The trail is covered with mosses and lichens that can make it slippery and even treacherous if you're not careful. The steep trail that leads up to the top of Rager Mountain offers a rewarding and breathtaking view of the Conemaugh River Valley. Watch out for Timber Rattlers! Happy Exploring!
